The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kufa Hosts a Workshop on E-Governance and Institutional Development

The Materials Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering/University of Kufa, in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit and the Psychological Counseling Unit, organized a workshop titled “E-Governance,” presented by Dr. Ikhlas Hassan. The event, attended by students and professionals in technology and management, explored e-governance as a modern administrative model that leverages technology to enhance institutional performance, transparency, and efficiency in both government and non-government sectors.
Key topics included the definition and principles of e-governance, its technical and managerial aspects, and its benefits—such as cost reduction, community engagement, and transparency. The workshop also highlighted implementation technologies, its role in education, and successful global case studies. Recommendations emphasized the need for regulatory frameworks, cybersecurity measures, digital literacy programs, and learning from international best practices. The session concluded by stressing the importance of raising public awareness through media and educational institutions to promote administrative efficiency and combat corruption through advanced digital systems.
