University of Kufa Faculty of Engineering Hosts Workshop on Preventing Water Leakage in Hydraulic Facilities

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kufa in Iraq recently held a workshop focused on finding engineering solutions to prevent water leakage in hydraulic facilities. Dr. Haider Abbas Ali, a university professor, led the workshops.
The workshop aimed to address the common issues of water clarity loss and leakage in structures that hold water, such as cement tanks, ponds, swimming pools, and other water containment systems. During the workshop, Dr. Ali discussed various causes of water leakage and presented potential solutions using insulating chemicals and materials.
Some highlighted waterproofing products and materials include polycarbonate sheets, sealants/caulking, waterproofing concrete additives, and generous waterproofing membranes. By using these insulating materials, engineers can help prevent water clarity loss and leakage problems in hydraulic facilities through proper sealing and insulation.
The workshop emphasized the importance of finding engineering-based solutions to the wastewater issues prevalent in many hydraulic structures. By sharing knowledge and expertise, the Faculty of Engineering is working to tackle this problem and improve water efficiency in the infrastructure.
