A workshop entitled “Nanopolymers and their Effect on Corrosion Inhibition” was held in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, delivered by Prof. Dr. Ismail Muslim Alwan.
The workshop aims to use several polymers, such as polymeric glycogen nanoparticles can be used in corrosion inhibition. Polymer nanocomposites have recently been developed as industrially useful corrosion inhibitors. Silver-starch nanoparticles have been used to inhibit light steel corrosion using weight loss technology. In addition, use a corrosion inhibitor based on nanocellulose compound to study copper corrosion in sodium chloride solution. New nanocomposites of copper and nickel oxides nanostructures embedded in melamine frames which includes cellulose nanocrystals that have been used to study corrosion.
