The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mahdi Al-Khateeb, has recently announced the establishment of a master’s program specializing in water resources within the Department of Structures and Water Resources at the Faculty. This program is set to commence in the academic year 2024-2025 following approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The primary objective of this program is to produce highly qualified graduates holding a master’s degree in the field of water facilities and resources. These graduates will contribute to the development of both the country as a whole and the University of Kufa in particular. Moreover, they will play a crucial role in enhancing scientific collaboration with other universities as well as fostering advancements in society, the public sector, and various ministries and institutions.
Dr. Al-Khateeb emphasized that the introduction of this study program aims to address the growing demand for specialized scientific expertise in the community. It is designed to provide the community and associated ministries and institutions with highly skilled professionals who possess an elevated level of proficiency. Furthermore, the faculty is committed to establishing partnerships with reputable regional and international universities to improve the quality of the master’s program.
All the necessary resources, both material and human, have been allocated to ensure the successful launch of this program. State-of-the-art laboratories, qualified teaching staff, and other essential elements have been secured to create an optimal learning environment. The master’s program is scheduled to commence in the academic year 2024-2025, offering students a comprehensive educational experience in the Department of Structures and Water Resources at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Kufa.
