The Faculty of Engineering participates in a symposium about the probability of hydrocarbon abundance in the middle Euphrates

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mahdi Al-Khateeb, attended a seminar entitled “The Probability of Hydrocarbon Abundance in the Middle Euphrates”, which was held at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Kufa. The symposium aimed to find out the causes of the phenomenon and to know the sources, cracks and boiling of  the earth and analyze the extensive results, as well as to present practical field scenes illustrated on the phenomenon of the oasis of the eyes of monks, and a detailed explanation of the technical and scientific examinations and how to reach positive results and then reach important conclusions about the existence of oil reservoirs and refer the site to an exploratory well.

The symposium came out with recommendations, the most important of which is the formation of several technical research teams to visit the region, carry out scientific tests, take models and examine the soil, then develop a plan to protect the environment and residents of the region from the effects of gases emitted in the region, then conduct seismic tests and exploratory drilling for oil under the supervision of experts in the field of specialization.
