Under the guidance of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mahdi, and with the support of the faculty’s teachers and staff, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized an event titled “International Orphan Day” in collaboration with the Abu Al-Zahraa Charitable Foundation for Orphans. The event was held at Dr. Muhammad Makiya’s hall in the Department of Civil Engineering.
The program began with reciting a verse from the Holy Quran, followed by a collective singing of the national anthem after a minute of mourning for the deceased and the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah for all the martyrs and deceased.
In his speech, the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Haider Sami Saleh, explained that this year’s celebration of Orphan Day continued the faculty’s approach over the past six years, emphasizing the importance of this educational platform in supporting orphans.
