The Department of Mechanical Engineering held a seminar about improving heat transfer processes inside a tube with a triangular section using protrusions (vortex generators) of various shapes and sizes. The seminar was held in the hall of Dr. Munir Al-Muzaffar. It was moderated by Dr. Hashim Naji Al Mahmud, and delivered by a student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Muhammad Hadi Hamid, who is supervised by Dr. Hafez Hassan Al-Ghazali. The seminar discussed the heat transfer behavior and heat transfer coefficient inside a channel with an equilateral triangle section. The channel is exposed to a constant heat flow that is applied through one side (the base) where different arrangements of ribs have been placed.
