A Workshop for Identifying Factors Contributing to Low Success Rates in Theoretical Exams

A workshop titled “Identifying Reasons for Low Success Rates in Theoretical Exams” was organized by the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering. The workshop’s primary objective was to enhance students’ academic content and competencies to improve their performance in exams.
Dr. Uday Muhammad Abbas Al-Shather, from the Department of Architecture, delivered a lecture that identified the reasons for low success rates. He conducted an electronic survey using Google Forms to gather feedback from students. The survey data were statistically analyzed to determine the obstacles and ways to mitigate them.
More than 60 students participated in the workshop, which focused on comparing the results of the teacher’s questionnaire with those of individual students. The workshop recommended several measures, including creating a separate questionnaire for each subject, identifying complex topics, and addressing them to improve students’ exam performance.
