The lecturer from the College of Engineering at the University of Kufa and the Director of the Nanotechnology and Advanced Research Unit, Prof. Dr. Sabah Maysan Dahab, was chosen as the chair of the committee to discuss the doctoral thesis of the student Marwa Jawad Kazem Radi in the Physics Department of the College of Science, Basra University, tagged:
Preparation and Diagnosis of Metal Oxide Nanocatalyst Photocatalyst for Environmental and Energy Applications
In addition to Mareisen, the committee consisted of: Assistant Professor Dr. Sattar Jabbar Qasim from Basra University as a member, Assistant Professor Dr. Nasser Muhammad Ahmad from the Malaysian University of Science as a member, Assistant Professor Dr. Areej Kazem Abbas, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Saleh Mahdi from Basra University as members. In addition to Professor Dr. Mazen Awni Mahdi, and Assistant Professor Dr. Jalal Jabbar Hasan from Basra University as members and supervisors.
In this study, thin films of zinc oxide and titanium oxide nanostructures were prepared on glass bases and conductive glass covered with FTO by chemical bath deposition method. The Ag NPs were deposited with silver nanoparticles.
Mersen noted that the student studied the optical properties of all thin nanofilms by absorbing ultraviolet-visible light and found the energy gap.
After the student defended her thesis, the committee decided to grant her a doctorate degree, with distinction.
