A master’s degree discussion session was held at the Faculty of Engineering/University of Kuf, the thesis entitled
New development of hydrogels from nano starch crystals nanoparticles / gum Arabic glue to control drug release and cancer treatment: preparation and characterization
The master’s degree candidte “Mona Mohamed Rida Mohammed Jafar” from the Department of Materials Engineering, whom was supervised by Dr. Ismail Musallam Alwan, head of materials engineering at the College Explained that The work was limited to the preparation of nano starch crystals by acidification of corn starch, as well as the preparation of a new material by binding the nanotubes with Arabic gum in the presence of potassium sulfate (K2S2O8) as onset. The properties of the new substance were described and its potential applications in controlling the release of the drug and treatment of cancer were investigated, and then loading the new manufactured material from the nano starch/ Arabic gum with urea hydroxyl. Where the original and nan starch were distinguished by different techniques such as FTIR, SEM XRD.
