A lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kufa as a Chairman of the Discussion Committee for a Master’s Thesis Specializing in Road Engineering
The head of the Civil Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kufa, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abbas Al-Jumaili, was chosen as a chairman to discuss the master’s thesis entitled: “The effect of using different regenerators on the performance of the recycled asphalt mixtures.” For the student Muhammad Khalif Shams from the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Technology, specializing in Road and Transport Engineering.
This research, which had a useful application aspect to improve the road network in Iraq, in which the researcher used regenerating additives to improve the properties and performance of hot asphalt mixtures after recycling the old paving materials and the recycled asphalt mixtures were strengthened, as the additives used were class 85-100 and class 60-70, and old motor oil. The best results obtained by the researcher were by adding fine grade class 85-100.
After a discussion of the student and the defense of his thesis, the thesis was accepted with excellent grade. The Dean of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Hassan Hammoudi Johnny, presented his blessing to the student, his thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the discussion committee, members of the committee, and supervisors.
