At the Faculty of Engineering at the University of El Kuqa, a discussion of the master thesis was held:
Study the effect of coating using nanoparticle solution on the corrosion of carbon steel alloys in different solutions
Student Noor Muhammad Al-Shammari from the Department of Materials Engineering, and the discussion committee consisted of Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ataiwi from the Department of Materials Engineering, University of Technology as Chair, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Jaber from the College of Materials Engineering, University of Babylon as a member, and the teacher Dr. Asma Hassan Diaa from the College of Engineering, University of Kufa A member, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Amer Abdel-Hadi from the Faculty of Engineering, University of Kufa as a member and supervisor.
The supervisor explained that the research aims to coat low carbon steel with polyester with Al2O3 nanoparticles to apply surbos instead of using low carbon steel alone, enhance the corrosion resistance of the low carbon substrate, improve the adhesion property of the coating material on the surface of carbon steel, and improve some mechanical properties of the coating material. Then choose high-performance materials with low cost.
After the discussion was conducted and the committee recorded its observations on the thesis, which was divided between explanation, correction and statement, the student’s scientific integrity, her great and distinguished effort, and the conclusion of the discussion, the thesis was evaluated and it was decided to recommend acceptance of the thesis and granting the student a master’s degree in materials engineering sciences.
