The aim of the research is to study the effect of coatings on the surface of urea to produce slow release fertilizers. Referring to the examination of the effect of loading wool and treated wool on its mechanical properties and rheological properties, the urea fertilizer was coated with two types of composite materials, which are styrene-butadiene rubber added to wool and a mixture of styrene-butadiene rubber and wool treated with sodium hydroxide.
The supervisor of the message said that the increase in global demand for food, climate change and the excessive use of chemical fertilizers lead to environmental damage. In addition, more than 60% of the urea is lost when applied to the soil, which requires coating the traditional urea fertilizer to enhance its use and this is called slow release fertilizer.
After the discussion committee recorded its observations on the thesis, which was divided between the explanation, correction, the student’s defense of her thesis and the end of the discussion, the committee went to evaluate the thesis and decided to grant the student a master’s degree in materials engineering sciences with an excellent rating.
