The professor from the College of Engineering at the University of Kufa, Prof. Dr. Qasim Muhammad Shakir, published a scientific research entitled:
Response of an innovative type of high strength composite reinforced concrete corbels
In the magazine (Structures) of the British Institute of Engineers and sponsored by the International Publishing House (Elsevier), it is classified within the warehouses Scopus (Scopus) with an impact factor of 2.21 and within the first quarter Q1 and also within the warehouses of Clarifit (formerly Thomson Reuters) and the impact factor 1.646.
The research included a study of a new model of reinforced and reinforced concrete corbels, with the addition of metal sections of various shapes inside the concrete section. The study aims to improve the performance of the usual reinforced concrete brackets by increasing their durability and increasing the margin of safety in the failure stage. Where it was noted that the new brackets possess a measure of safety and behave more flexibly than those that are not installed and that suffer from sudden failure and total collapse that may lead to the collapse of the entire structure and cause great material and human damage. It was also noticed that the process of maintaining the brackets with the proposed model is easier and less expensive than its regular counterpart. The researcher reached many conclusions that confirm the feasibility of studying this type of bracket and laying the theoretical foundations for its design.
