The lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kufa, Dr. Hayder Hussein Alghazali, published scientific research entitled: “The effectiveness of using carbon fiber nets to arm the two-way concrete system” in the international journal (ACI Structural Journal) issued by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), it is within the Scopes containers with an impact factor of 1.03, and a rating of Q1.
Alghazali pointed out that the research included a study of the effectiveness of using carbon fiber nets to arm concrete tiles instead of “regular reinforcement concrete” since carbon fibers are distinguished by their high resistance to corrosion and are light in weight and high resistance. The tiles are designed for use in garages and roofs of buildings to increase the design life of the buildings as well as to reduce the maintenance costs resulting from the regular reinforcement concrete because these tiles are characterized by high durability and carbon fiber resistance to harsh environmental conditions.
The results of the comparative research with reinforced concrete slabs using ordinary reinforce have demonstrated the efficiency of this new type of slab and the possibility of its use in place of the slabs armed with regular reinforcement. The results of the research were also compared with the settings of the concrete code and showed their conformity with the requirements of the code.
