In light of the pandemic conditions of the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19), and the accompanying repercussions of the curfew, and because of the current conditions in the country. And the shift to the use of the Internet and distance learning policies in the educational process, took place at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Kufa, discussing a master’s thesis tagged:
Study and treatment of defects in casting copper alloys of sliding bearings
The student, Hawrah Abdul Hussain Al-Bahadly, from the Department of Materials Engineering. As this discussion is the first of its kind, as it took place electronically and through the use of the google meet program, where the discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Atewi from the University of Technology / Department of Materials Engineering as Chairman, and the membership of both Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim Kazem Abdul Ali from Babylon University / College of Materials Engineering, and teacher Dr. Shaker Mazloum Kata from the University of Kufa / College of Engineering as a member, in addition to Assistant Professor Dr. Iman Jaber Abdul from the University of Kufa / College of Engineering as a member and supervisor.
The results of the message summarized that the alloys obtained by metal molds possess higher hardness than the alloys produced by sand plumbing as a result of rapid cooling. And the wear resistance increases in general with the increased load.
After the discussion committee recorded her notes on the thesis, which was distributed between explanation and correction, the student’s defense of her thesis and the end of the discussion, the committee went to evaluate the thesis and decided to give the student a master’s degree in the field of materials engineering sciences.
