In its endeavor to communicate with its graduates and search for job opportunities for them, the University of Kufa participated in a conference and activities for launching a competitive financing program for Iraqi universities, which was held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Studies and Planning and the affiliate of the station building in Baghdad, in cooperation with the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, and funded by the World Bank.
During the conference, which was attended by several private sector companies, the competitive financing program, its objectives and its work plan were introduced.
The university delegation represented by the members of the Rehabilitation and Employment Division and the follow-up of the graduates, who are both Dr. Mona Al-Qaisi and Chief Engineer Jaber Kazim, said that the funding program aims to enable young people to obtain jobs by training them in the employment center of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research by relying on creative initiatives in training hands working, and strengthening the relationship between Iraqi universities and the private sector, in addition to updating rehabilitation, employment, and follow-up programs in Iraqi universities. Noting that this program is based on a grant provided by the World Bank, with a value of up to (200,000) two hundred thousand dollars for each project that will win the competition, and works to implement this program, the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and all teaching staff can submit their ideas to the private sector for a purpose getting their support because the idea is appropriate and serves them and is appropriate for them. Explaining that the universities that win the best creative idea that includes a real partnership between the private sector and universities will receive funding from the World Bank grant and under the supervision and implementation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressing that the application date for this program will end on 29/2/2020 at 12:00 pm to receive ideas from all Iraqi universities, and for projects that are submitted to the Ministry as an idea to be eligible for competition. It is required that they have a partnership with the private sector, that they aim to serve the community, and they target students at university-ending stages and add improvement in the quality of education.
