A Lecturer from University of Kufa writes An Article about Saturated Cellular Concrete

Dr. Rana Hamid Shubar, a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering at University of Kufa, wrote an article about saturated cellular concrete titled: “Eco-Friendly Concrete (Saturated Cellular Concrete)”
Dr. Shubar showed that saturated cellular concrete is classified as a very lightweight concrete consisting of cement, water, fine aggregate (sand and fly ash) and aluminum powder with a distinct cellular structure. She noted that the saturated cellular concrete has 1/5 of the weight of ordinary concrete with a density ranging from 0.4 to 0.8 g/cm3 with a compressive strength of 2 to 7 MPa. Confined air bubbles are the main reason for enhancing their physical properties but are weak in tensile strength and therefore should be armed. In addition, saturated cellular concrete is an environmentally friendly building material and is manufactured by steam treatment of raw materials.
